Replicon Easy Invoice

The easiest way to manage your workforce

 

Project Background:  

Replicon supports hourly billing rates only. However certain projects require that clients get billed on a daily or monthly rate. There was no ability to generate an invoice to print, save or email to clients. With Easy Invoice organizations can now manage project teams with daily or monthly billing rates, helping to provide the best type of billing rates that meet their client’s needs.

As product lead, I spearheaded the design, user experience and design strategy for web appI designed an experience that allows company employees to Invoice their customers using time and expense data.

Solve design challenge for enterprise customers that would have large sets of data. 

RESEARCH AND INSPIRATION

I did some basic research on how Quickbooks, Zoho and Freshbooks add data to the Invoice,  and quickly started by adopting a few common UI pattern already established in the Replicon Pattern toolkit.
Using Net promoter scores we acted upon real-time feedback and insights from customers and the rest of the organization. We piloted this project with 5 customers from the user community. 

Hypothesis 

Invoicing is a new feature that allows billing managers of a company to create professional Invoices. We believe that by creating necessary invoicing capabilities, we are enhancing this experience for Billing/ Finance managers. This will achieve satisfied customers that can now include time and expenses data to bill their clients and track payments that will give them clear visibility into their Services Revenue.

Success Metrics:

  • Billing managers create/ edit/ delete & send professional invoices through Replicon system. 
  • Improve the user experience and retain users within Replicon system.
  • Include time and expense data 
  • Expedite the billing process.
 

Step 1:  Add line items to Invoice worksheet

 
  • Data displayed based on Invoice period and client name
  • Display only items that are approved and not billed
  • Data grouped by project
  • User can expand and collapse projects
  • If the project is selected all items within the project will be selected by default
  • Show the sum of a project 
  • Add pagination to show more project data
